Description
Wakefield Middle School is located in Northern Wake County west of the town of Wake Forest/Capital Boulevard and is situated in the Wakefield Community. The school serves students in grades six through eight in a comprehensive middle school program of Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and Healthful Living. Courses are designed to meet the needs of regular, advanced, academically gifted, and special needs students. In addition to core subjects, students may choose electives in the areas of Second Languages, Arts Education, and Career and Technical Education. We offer a full performing arts program that includes Band, Orchestra, Dance and Drama.
Wakefield Middle School has achieved "High Growth" status each of the last seven years and is the only middle school in WCPSS to Met Federal “Adequate Yearly Progress” Standards for the 2010-2011 school year.

Extra-Curricular Highlights
Wakefield Middle School offers a wide variety of extra-curricular activities to our students. We have academic competition clubs such as Odyssey of the Mind, Battle of the Books as well as cultural activities such as a Step Squad. Our Art Club works to develop individual skills while working to add color and beauty to the campus. Wakefield Middle School has a strong athletic program and are consistent winners of sportsmanship awards.
