North Ridge Elementary has been described as the hidden jewel of North Raleigh. Tucked in the woods of the North Ridge neighborhood, this warm, inviting school stands ready to nurture and inspire each of its young learners.
North Ridge's primary strength is the outstanding staff. North Ridge has a supportive administration and an experienced teaching force; 63% have been teaching over ten years and 44% have advanced degrees. The staff at North Ridge is focused on building strong relationships with students and delivering quality instruction each day.
Polite children are another strength of North Ridge. It is not uncommon to see a student at North Ridge opening the door for others, and warmly greeting them with a smile and a kind word. A school-wide system of reinforcers is used to motivate student behavior and character is taught alongside academics. Such rewards as Pajama Day, talent shows, and lunch with the principal excite students and encourage them to do their best. Many North Ridge students are engaged in extracurricular activities including: Student Leaders, Technology Club, Junior PEPI, Safety Patrol, Media Helpers, Chess Club, Chorus, Odyssey of the Mind, Peer Tutors, Spanish Club, and more.
North Ridge has a strong family atmosphere and a neighborhood feel. Parents are a welcomed asset to the school community. Volunteers are a common sight and many families walk their kids to and from school each day. The PTA provides abundant support and sponsors a gigantic fall carnival, a science expo, movie nights, cultural arts demonstrations, a book fair, Jelly Beans skate nights, teacher mini grants, and more.
North Ridge is a school you won't want to miss. Call 870-4100 for tour times, or check us out online at http://northridgees.wcpss.net/.
Traditional curriculum schools offer students high quality instruction, opportunities for advanced studies, creative exploration and extra-curricular activities in a nurturing educational setting. Some of the highest-performing schools in Wake County are traditional curriculum schools.
Important: Bus routes are subject to change based on actual student distribution, parent appeals, and other factors. The information here will be updated regularly, but updates may take several days to be reflected online. This route information last updated: 7:27 AM, Wed, Oct 1, 2014.
Stop times: Parents can anticipate a stop time based on the route start time, estimating 3 minutes between stops for neighborhood routes and 10 minutes for express routes. The exact stop time will vary during the first weeks of school. Students should be ready and waiting for the bus at least 10 minutes before the bus is expected to arrive.
Bus schedules: We urge parents to be patient as routes settle during the first few weeks of school. With students becoming familiar with this new routine, bus routes may take more time.
Faded Stops: Stops in faded text are on the route, but do not pick up or drop off students attending this school.
Questions?: Contact Transportation.
