The Wake County Board of Education (Board) is seeking proposals from qualified independent auditors (hereinafter called auditors) to perform a fraud examination and fraud vulnerability assessment of the internal accounting and administrative controls of the Wake County Public School System (School System). The Board invites qualified independent auditors having specific expertise in fraud examinations, forensic accounting, and other relevant experience necessary to perform an audit in accordance with the specifications outlined in this Request for Proposal (RFP) to submit a proposal. Auditors should have extensive and relevant knowledge in governmental accounting and financial reporting requirements, as well as adequate familiarity with all relevant North Carolina General Statutes pertaining to the fiscal management of local governments. There is no expressed or implied obligation for the Board to reimburse firms of any expenses incurred in preparing proposals in response to this request.
