CLASSIFICATION, FEE SCHEDULE, PROCEDURES AND GUIDELINES FOR FACILITY USE

 In general, approval of requests for the use of school facilities as covered in Levels 1-3, shall be guided by the following considerations:

 

Wake County Public School System activities have first priority. Other use will be promoted and encouraged as long as the user meets maintenance, safety, and user guidelines.

 

Wake County Public School System will encourage and foster reciprocal partnerships with community groups for public and private use and improvement.

Each request for use of a school facility shall be classified per fee structure and priority order as to one of the following categories:  education, child-focused programs/activities, adult programs/activities, other program activities, or Level 4 joint use agreement (JUA) designated fields/outdoor facilities.

7410.2

The Community Schools department will determine fee structure annually for Levels 1-3 to ensure that the school system is, at minimum, recovering costs. The fee schedule will be provided to all school principals and made available to the public.

7410.3

Procedure for applying for facility use:

 

A.

The Superintendent shall have prepared and provided to principals a standard application form, titled Facility Use Application, Form 2900, for the use of school facilities. A completed Facility Use Application, Form 2900, shall be submitted to the principal of the facility being requested a minimum of 30 business days prior to requested use of the facility.

 

B.

Requests for use of Level 4 JUA designated fields/outdoor facilities shall be referred to the appropriate municipality.

7410.4

Guidelines and Procedures for permitting non-site based use of WCPSS facilities will be established by the Community Schools department, provided to the principals and be made available to the public.

 

All charges for use, Levels 1-3, must be paid to WCPSS Community Schools no later than ten (10) business days prior to the scheduled use of the facilities.

 

The Wake County Public School System can terminate the agreement in its sole discretion if the school system determines that laws are violated.
