CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES

2560

The possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages, including beer, malt liquor, and wine is not permitted on property owned or occupied by the Wake County Board of Education.  Any person who possesses or consumes any alcoholic beverage on school property will be asked to leave the school property immediately, and, if he/she fails to do so, will be arrested and prosecuted for criminal trespass and disorderly conduct.  This policy is in addition to, and does not modify in any way, the Code of Student Conduct adopted by the Wake County Board of Education.

The Board authorizes the Superintendent or designee to allow exceptions to this policy as allowed by G.S. 18B-103(8). Nothing in this policy should be misconstrued to conflict with Board Policy 2307/3007/4007-Drug Free Workplace Environment.
