Recommendation of Early
Contract Extension
For School
Principals/Assistant Principals/Central Office Administrator
This form is designed to
identify contracted school principals, assistant principals and central office
administrators who may warrant an early contract extension. Each school
official responsible for evaluating a school administrator shall complete this
form by, May 1, 2001, during the school year immediately
preceding the final year of a school administrator’s contract. Contract
extensions ordinarily will be for one year.
An early contract extension
is a reward for very good performance and shall not be granted to an
administrator whose overall performance is considered to be at standard or
below standard. Valid reasons for not recommending an early contract
extension include: (1) evaluation ratings reflecting overall at standard or
below standard performance; (2) other concerns about the administrator’s
conduct or performance; (3) anticipated
elimination or reallocation of administrative positions due to decreased
funding, declining enrollment, program changes, or other factors; or (4) any
other rational reason.
