EXCLUSIVE VENDING CONTRACTS |
8363 |
The Board of Education
recognizes that substantial revenues may be obtained for school system and
local school needs through exclusive vending agreements for the sale of
products within the schools. The Board
encourages the Superintendent to solicit exclusive vending contracts within
the following limitations: |
1. |
All contracts with food or beverage vendors must be approved by the
Board of Education without regard to the dollar amount. This does not include food or beverage
service for a specific event. |
2. |
The Superintendent shall obtain prior approval from the Board to
solicit proposals for exclusive vending contracts. |
3. |
The product(s) sold and the terms of the vending agreement must not
conflict with the Board’s goal of providing high quality educational services
in a safe and healthful learning environment. |
4. |
The Superintendent shall solicit proposals through a well-publicized
bidding process and shall seek to obtain bids from a broad range of vendors. |
5. |
Except as limited by state or federal law, each school shall decide
the manner of sale and distribution of the vended product in concert with the
Board’s goal of providing high quality educational services in a safe and
healthful learning environment. |
6. |
The plan developed by the Superintendent for distribution of exclusive
vending contract revenues shall be approved by the Board prior to
implementation. |
