Temporary Membership capping

As needed to control and stabilize the growth in student membership at overcrowded schools, the Board my temporarily establish a maximum student membership (cap) with the designation of an alternate school assignment for students ineligible to attend the capped school.

6204.1

Implementation of a membership cap for any and all schools designated by the board shall become effective on a date specified by the board, but not later than midnight on May 1 prior to the beginning of the school year of implementation.

6204.2

Students in membership at the capped school on the implementation date specified by the board shall be eligible to attend the capped school. The superintendent shall develop Regulations and Procedures to establish additional criteria for eligibility to attend the capped school.

6204.3

After establishment of an enrollment cap, Board approval will be necessary no later than April 1 of the following year to continue and to modify implementation of the capping strategy.
