The first part of the calculation must be divided by the total number of students in WCPSS and our charter schools.  The county appropriation for charter schools flows through our books.  This figure is also published each year in the Superintendent’s Budget Message in the budget documents.

 

In the second part of the calculation, the local building program expenditures are divided by WCPSS students only.  No charter schools receive those funds.

 

We use 20^th day figures as published by Assistant Superintendent of Growth and Planning in the Historical Capacity and Membership Chart for the student membership figure.  The Senior Director of Accounting/Finance Officer will provide the number of children in charter schools.

 

The general expense county appropriation monies include fund two and excludes other local revenues (interest, fines and forfeitures, categorical programs, indirect cost, etc), which fluctuate throughout the year.
