GROUPING FOR INSTRUCTION

Assignment of students to classes is the responsibility of the principal.

5300.1

Grouping of students for instruction shall be on the basis of the most desirable combination of a number of important factors.  Students who can succeed and maintain a feeling of belonging should be grouped together based upon:

 

A.

What is best for the individual pupil,

 

B.

What is best for the group with which she/he is placed,

 

C.

What is best for effective instruction of the group,

 

D.

What is best as indicated by grouping criteria established by the Superintendent.

These criteria will be based on the best objective test data and the IEP for identified handicapped students.
