All school employees, including substitute
teachers, student teachers and volunteers, must immediately report to the
principal or his or her designee, any act of violence in school, on school
property, or at school-sponsored events.
Acts that should be reported are all those known or

but is not limited to, acts reportable by the principal to law enforcement
under board policy 2333.3/3033.3/4033.3. The reporting requirement applies to all violent
acts perpetrated by students, staff, or others, as long as the incident
occurs on school property, as defined in board policy 2333.3/3033.3/4033.3,or
at a school event. Reports should be made in person or by telephone
contact with the principal/designee, and should be followed by a written statement

The principal shall make an
immediate report to law enforcement whenever the principal has personal
knowledge or information from a staff member that a reportable offense, as
enumerated in board policy 2333.3/3033.3/4033.3, has occurred. In determining whether a reportable offense
has occurred, the principal shall apply the definitions of reportable
offenses published by the State Department of Public Instruction. The principal shall designate
a person who shall report to law enforcement in his/her absence. |

where the bus was physically located when the act occurred. Principals shall collaborate
with their local law enforcement agency leaders to determine the best
procedure for making the report. |
