2021 3021 |
It shall be
the policy of the Board to retain teachers and administrators who demonstrate
and continue to strive for excellence in the performance of their
responsibilities and in their contributions to improved educational outcomes.
A.
Proficient
performance shall be considered the minimum acceptable standard of performance
for teachers and administrators in this school system; however, proficient
performance shall not constitute any assurance to any teacher or administrator
of rights to employment, reemployment, renewal, or career status for teachers.
B. Subjective and objective appraisals of
performance and contributions to improved educational outcomes and the needs of
the Wake County Public School System shall be considered in making decisions to
reemploy teachers or administrators or to grant career status to teachers.
C. It is the policy of the Board of Education to
award career status to teachers or award contract renewals to school
administrators defined by G.S. 115C-287.1 who have exhibited excellence in
their performance.
A teacher may not be recommended for career status unless the teacher was rated
at least “proficient” on all standards of the teacher’s most recent summative
rating form.
