PROFESSIONAL LEAVES AND ABSENCES

After rendering three (3) consecutive years of administrative service in the Wake County Public School System, an employee shall be eligible to apply for professional leave not to exceed one year, and without pay, the purpose of which shall be limited to professional improvement.

2264.1

Application for professional leave shall be submitted prior to May 15 of the school year preceding the proposed leave.

2264.2

Reemployment shall be assured for the year following the leave.

2264.3

A person granted leave shall be responsible for obtaining information and making necessary individual arrangements relative to continuation of retirement, hospitalization, and salary benefits during the leave of absence.
