Title: Attorney |

Qualifications: |
||
|
1.
Admission to
the bar of the state |
||
|
2.
At least five
(5) years' successful legal practice, either privately or as a member of a
partnership or firm of attorneys |
||
|
3.
Maintenance of
residence or professional practice within the boundaries of the school system |
||
|
4.
Such
alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may establish |
||
|
Reports to: |

Superintendent
or chair of the Board |
||
|
Job Goal: |
||
|
To
assist the Board in the legal performance of its duties and the fair and just
discharge of its
obligation to students, staff, and school patrons |
||
|
Performance Responsibilities: |
||
|
1.
Attend
meetings of the Board at its request. |
||
|
2.
Advise the Board
in all matters of a legal or technical nature relating to the interpretation
of statutes, charters, ordinances, and contracts. |
||
|
3.
Prepare or
revise for the Board invitations to bid, job specifications, and contracts
for work involving private businesses, services, or agents. |
||
|
4.
Advise the Board
in all staff contract negotiations. |
||
|
5.
Perform such
other duties consistent with his or her professional competence as the Board
may assign. |
||
|
Terms of
Employment: |
||
|
As a consultant on an annual basis; remuneration to
be determined by the Board. |
||
|
Evaluation:
|
||
|
Performance to be evaluated annually by the board. |
||
