Foreign Exchange Program Enriches Wake County Schools
Every year, the Wake County Public Schools Foreign Exchange Program works with non-profit organizations to allow students from all over the world to study in our high schools. This year, a record number of students has been approved for placement in our district. Fifty-nine students, representing 19 different countries, will enrich our high schools by providing Wake County students with an opportunity to learn about life outside of the United States.
Students interested in spending a semester or year of high school abroad should contact the Dean of Student Services at their high school for a list of organizations and local representatives. A complete list of foreign exchange organizations can be found at www.csiet.org. Plans for study abroad in the 2008-2009 school year should begin this fall.
