BOARD APPROVES DESIGN CONSULTANT AGREEMENT FOR E-34
At its April 10 meeting, the Board of Education named Cherry Huffman Architects, PA for the design of E-34, a new elementary school to be built west of Wendell as part of the CIP 2006 School Building Program. The form of agreement is the standard form approved by the Board attorney. Funding is available from the total project budget of $ 23,861,608, all of which is from CIP 2006. The total project budget includes total proposed compensation for the design consultant of $779,272. A separate agreement, in the amount of $77,927, was previously issued for the schematic design phase.

BOARD APPROVES CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS FOR SYCAMORE CREEK
At its April 10 meeting, the Board of Education approved construction documents for Sycamore Creek Elementary (E17) and authorized staff to advertise for construction. Funding is available from the total project budget of $21,882,007, of which $1,708,291 is from PLAN 2004 and $20,173,716 is from CIP 2006.

BOARD APPROVES CHANGE ORDER FOR MILLS PARK ELEMENTARY (E-22)
At its April 10 meeting, the Board of Education approved Change Order No. GC-03 to Clancy & Theys Construction Company for their Construction Management at Risk contract for Mills Park Elementary (E22). This change order, in the amount of $294,887 is to establish a guaranteed maximum price (GMP) for the time-sensitive box culvert package, which is one of the 32 construction packages for this project. The total project GMP to date, including this one is $2,549,126. A future change order will be brought to the board to establish the total GMP for this project. Funding is available from the total project budget of $22,142,874, of which $745,000 is from PLAN 2004, $330,823 is available from funds passed through Wake County from the developer in fiscal year 2004-2005, $15,897,874 is from CIP 2006, and $5,169,177 is to be provided by the developer.

BOARD AWARDS CONTRACT TO RELOCATE MODULAR TO EAST WAKE
At its April 10 meeting, the Board of Education awarded a single-prime contract to C. Blake Lewis Construction in the amount of $378,483 for the relocation, set-up, and site work, for one eight-classroom complex modular unit being moved from Longview High School to East Wake Middle School. Funding is available from the total project budget of $16,935,553, all of which is from the CIP 2006 Mobile Classroom Relocation and Leasing, 2007-2009 project.

CORRECTION
The School Construction Report incorrectly reported April 16 that the Board of Education had approved an agreement connected to renovations at Cary High School. At the April 16 meeting, the board asked that the item be removed from its consent agenda to be considered in the future.
