Project Enlightenment Helps to Get Your Child "Off to a Good Start" in Kindergarten
Jan. 5, 2005 - Project Enlightenment, part of the Wake County Public School System, is presenting "Off to a Good Start - As Your Child Enters Kindergarten," a free information session for parents of rising kindergartners. Sessions are planned for eight Wake County locations during January 2005. Project Enlightenment offers these sessions each year prior to kindergarten registration held in February. Each session, led by either Project Enlightenment teacher/parent consultants or kindergarten transition specialists, offers information about helping your child get ready for kindergarten. Sessions also include WCPSS kindergarten registration information, hints and ideas to help ease a child's transition into kindergarten and ways to help parents become involved in their child's new learning experiences. Time is also allowed for parents' questions.
No pre-registration is necessary. All sessions are intended for adults only and are offered in addition to any meetings held at individual schools for new kindergarten parents. Session dates and locations follow and are also available online at www.projectenlightenment.wcpss.net. Call Project Enlightenment at 856-7774 for further information.
