WCPSS Students Perform Romeo and Juliet
August 24, 2004 - Forty WCPSS will take part in a revolutionary production
of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. at Regency Park Amphitheatre in Cary
September 16-18. Terrence Mann, Broadway actor and director (original Broadway
casts of Cats, Les Miserables, and Beauty and the Beast) directs his rock
musical adaptation of a Shakespeare classic. This is the first performance
of Mann's new work in North Carolina. It is presented by the Carolina Arts
Festival, Town of Cary - Applause! Cary Youth Theatre, in cooperation with
the Wake County Public School System. All roles are performed by area high
school students.
WCPSS students include Apex High students Emily Leonard, Elizabeth Nista
and Anna Stephenson, Athens Drive High students Jenny Gulley and Aeryn Parker,
Cary High students Ian Meeks, Charlie Williams and Tyler Williams, Enloe
High students Rachel Bahler, Clayton Bailey, Jessica Dean, Nicholas Devito,
Dylan Donley, Emily Feverstein, John Arthur Greene, Terrance Johnson, Lauren
Mancuso, Philip Mancuso, Mandi Moniz, Austin Pryfogle, Noah Putterman, Laura
Robertson and Sunny Smith, Fuquay Varina High students Kayla Ketrick, Kristen
Labianca and Maribeth Shaffer, Leesville Road High students Katherine Blain,
James Burke, Christina Oleska and Beth Philemon, Middle Creek High students
Joanne Wilson and Claire Taylor, Sanderson High students Courtney Atkins
