Parents may review the potential changes for their school, answer survey questions and leave their own comments and suggestions by clicking on the large "Transportation Survey" button on the WCPSS website's front page.
The survey will be live through Feb. 16. Feedback will be shared with the Wake County Board of Education in advance of its Feb. 21 discussion of the issue. In accordance with board policy, the school board must adopt bell schedules for next year by the end of March.
The proposed changes would increase efficiency and accommodate growth, while reducing the bus fleet by 112 buses and increasing the system's efficiency rating, which affects state funding levels. The combined savings would be up to $10 million.
