High Schools Schedule 2011 Freshman Camps

July 19, 2011 - Wake County high schools will offer freshman camps or orientation sessions this summer to help our rising ninth-graders make the oftentimes difficult transition from middle school to high school a little easier. Each high school developed its own version of Freshman Camp in order to personalize its program, staff and campus facilities for the rising ninth grade students.

As Freshman Camps have become a mainstay in Wake County high schools over the past several years, the personal connections made with other students, as well as becoming oriented to a new campus prior to the first day of classes, makes the move to high school much easier for freshmen.  Many camps focus on relationship- and team-building exercises to make the camps both fun and informative.

With most of the camps scheduled for July and August, many high schools also offer information sessions for parents.

You can find dates, contact names and additional information for the camps below. Click on the school name for information and registration pages at the school websites.
