Explore Magnet Schools Fair

October 27, 2010 - The Magnet Schools Fair of the Wake County Public School System will be held from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Saturday, November 6 at Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School.

CPSS magnet schools have been honored as some of the best in the nation by Magnet Schools of America, an organization of magnet schools from across the U.S. At the magnet fair, families can investigate the many magnet themes and in one place meet principals, teachers and students from the many magnet schools.

Families may investigate magnet themes such as Leadership and Technology, Museums, Gifted and Talented, International Baccalaureate, University Connections and more. Parents and students can explore Wake County’s newest magnet schools, Smith Elementary with the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme, Brentwood Elementary Magnet School of Engineering and Millbrook Magnet High’s International Baccalaureate program.

The magnet fair is the first of many opportunities for parents to look at magnet schools. In the coming months, there will be information sessions and school tours. Then in February, parents may apply for magnet and calendar options.
