Leesville Road and Mills Park Families Have New Magnet/Calendar Application Window

March 11, 2010 - The families assigned to the four schools affected by the calendar changes approved by the Board of Education on March 2 will have the opportunity to submit an application based on their new assignment or new calendar March 12-18.

At the March 2 meeting, the board placed Leesville Road Elementary, Leesville Road Middle and Mills Park Elementary on the traditional calendar and decided to open the new Mills Park Middle School on the traditional calendar.

Letters will be sent during the week of March 8 to families of these four schools outlining their options and providing them with additional time should they wish to apply for magnet or calendar changes in the 2010 school year.

Please note that the regular magnet and calendar notification timeline has changed. Click here to read about those changes.

The letters are being sent to the families of more than 4,500 students. Those who want the traditional calendar do not need to take any action. The letter explains that families looking for other options will have the opportunity to apply for calendar/magnet options during this new application window.

Parents are eligible to submit an application during the March 12-18 window if:
