Board Meeting Changes
March 22, 2010 - To ensure a safe and orderly environment, as well as to comply with fire safety standards, the following changes have been made to the Wake County School Board meetings.
Beginning Tuesday, March 23, 2010, tickets will be issued to citizens wishing to attend the meeting. A ticket will guarantee a visitor a seat in the boardroom available to the public.
- Visitors who leave the meeting to use the restrooms, make a phone call, etc. but plan on returning to the meeting are asked to hold onto their ticket. They will not be able to return to their seat without their ticket.
- Citizens who leave the meeting prior to its conclusion and do not plan on returning, are asked to turn over their ticket to a member of the security staff. That ticket will then be given to a member of the public waiting for a seat.
- Fire codes prohibit standing along the walls or aisles. Clear and unobstructed entrances and exits must be maintained at all times.
A video/audio feed of the meeting will be provided in the Board Room for members of the public wishing to observe the Committee of the Whole meeting.
