2011-12 Student Assignment Proposal Public Hearings, Online Sign Up Open

December 17, 2010 - The Board of Education will hold public hearings on the staff proposal for adjustments to the student assignment plan for the 2011-12 school year at five high schools in January. The Board of Education has also asked for community input regarding additional assignment changes that have been suggested.
The Cary and Millbrook High hearing dates have changed due to winter weather. The changes are reflected below and highlighted in yellow.

Each hearing is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
Online registration for the public hearings has ended.
You will only be able to sign up to speak at one public hearing. People will also be able to register at the public hearing site from 5 - 5:45 the afternoon of the hearing. The board will first hear comments in the order in which people have registered.
The public hearings are part of the ongoing conversation with the community about assigning students for 2011-12. One new school – Walnut Creek Elementary – is scheduled to open.
