Public Seating for April 6 Board of Education Meetings
April 1, 2010 - In an effort to clarify the process for attending the Wake County Board of Education’s Committee of the Whole and regular board meeting on Tuesday, April 6, seating vouchers will be available to those citizens wishing to attend beginning at approximately 10:30 a.m. that day.Seating for the Committee of the Whole is extremely limited. Any overflow of people wishing to attend will be directed to the Board Room where they may watch the committee meeting proceedings on closed circuit television.
Like the previous meeting, there will be 153 seating vouchers available to the public for the regular board meeting. Citizens with vouchers are free to leave the premises, however any empty seats in the Board Meeting Room as of 4 p.m. will be released and available to the next person should there be a waiting line.
Visitors, who leave the meeting to use the restrooms, make a phone call, etc., but plan on returning to the meeting are asked to hold on to their voucher. They will not be able to return to their seat without their voucher.
Citizens who leave the meeting prior to its conclusion and do not plan on returning are asked to turn over their voucher to a member of the WCPSS Security staff. That voucher will then be given to a member of the public waiting for a seat.
Fire Codes will be strictly enforced for the safety of all in attendance. We ask the public’s cooperation in following these regulations.
