November Full Circle and The School Connection
November 6, 2009 - In the spotlight this month: fighting H1N1 flu, volunteering, the Magnet Program, an online art museum, and our efforts to build a top-notch staff.
Our new in-depth discussion program, Full Circle, focuses on Magnet schools this month. Wake's Magnet schools program has been innovating for more than a quarter-century. School districts from around the country frequently send representatives to scout our magnet program. What makes it tick? This month, Full Circle attempts to answer that question. Guests include senior director David Ansbacher, along with a magnet school principal and parent.
WCPSS's magazine program, The School Connection, features the following segments:
- Volunteers Make a Difference: Bringing the community into our schools helps all of our students.
- Fighting the Flu (Part Two): We answer your questions about H1N1 and seasonal flu.
- Online Kid's Art Museum: Reedy Creek Elementary's young artists now have a worldwide audience for their art.
- Student Exchange: We explore student exchange programs from two angles: the students arriving in Wake County, and those traveling overseas.
- Retain, Recruit and Train: Find out how WCPSS is working to ensure that high-quality employees support learning and teaching.
The School Connection and Full Circle currently air on Time Warner Cable access channels. TV schedules, full episodes and a complete archive are also posted to the WCPSS website.
