Helpful Tools Can Prepare Students for State Testing

Parents can visit the Making the Grade Resource Center online to find materials that will help students review information they’ve been studying this school year and can expect to find on state testing.
Parents can review the objectives their students studied as part of the NC Standard Course of Study. Some have lessons and enrichment activities. Middle school students can find math lessons as well as state testing review questions.
High school students will find review information for Algebra I, Biology, English I, World History and US History. There are review questions for state testing on algebra and geometry.
The Success Series is an individualized approach to curriculum review created by the Wake County Public School System to help all students reach their academic potential.
The Success Series segments are available for students to review at their own pace from home, their school's media center or anywhere they have internet access. WCPSS students can also borrow The Success Series - Mathematics on DVD from their school.
State End-of-Grade testing is administered to students in grades 3-8 in traditional calendar schools on May 13 to May 21. State End-of-Grade testing is administered to students in grades 3-8 in year-round calendar schools on June 3-11. State End-of-Grade testing is administered to students in grades 3-8 in modified calendar schools on April 29 to May 7.
