Recycling Program
Wake County Public School System encourages recycling in all schools and offices. At the present time, all sites recycle corrugated cardboard, aluminum cans, and polystyrene when used on a regular basis. Schools having county collection sites on their campus should recycle office paper, newspaper, aluminum cans and plastic drink bottles on campus.
The Maintenance and Operations Department manages solid waste disposal and cardboard recycling at all schools. Questions concerning dumpster services should be directed to the Custodial Service department at (919) 856-8006.
In 2004, the Wake County Solid Waste Division joined force with the school system's EnergySavers program to create a program called "Feed the Bin." This program provides educational materials and bins for internal paper recycling. For more information about this program, visit "Feed the Bin" on the Wake County website.
