Theme Description

  1. Collaboration and interaction with area museums, professionals and experts

  2. Project and Paideia-based museums approach to learning, including the application of a variety of technology tools

  3. Student seminars conducted and Paideia principles applied throughout the curriculum

  4. Grade level museum field experiences as part of basic instruction

 

Hot Topics

  • Visit Millbrook Magnet HS and explore the International Baccalaureate Programme at Open House on November 18th at 9:00 am or 7:00 pm
  • Join us for parent information sessions at 10AM on the first and third Tuesdays from Sept - Feb at the Magnet Resource Center.
  • Many magnet schools have holiday concerts and performances in December, followed by another round of open house events in January. Visit individual school websites or call for more info!

Objectives

Magnet Programs will be used to foster healthy schools throughout the Wake County Public School System by using choice to help:

  • Reduce high concentrations of poverty and support diverse populations
  • Maximize use of school facilities
  • Provide expanded educational opportunities
