Kindergarten Early Entry Information
The 1997 General Assembly passed legislation allowing a child who has reached his/her fourth birthday by April 16 to enter kindergarten if he or she demonstrates an extraordinary level of academic ability and maturity. Please review the information below for more details.
Children applying for Early Kindergarten Entry are not eligible to participate in the open choice selection periods online. Updated forms and information are available now, and the district will start the Early Kindergarten Entry approval process in mid-April.
Once a child is approved for early entry, their parents will be able to select a school for that child from their choice list. Some school selections may be unavailable due to capacity limits.
