Salem Elementary Wake Kids for Katrina Events

Total Money Collected: $6,337.00

Wake Kids for Katrina

Runs: September 12-16

The Salem Elementary Staff and PTA will be participating in the Wake County Kids for Katrina campaign to raise funds for victims of hurricane Katrina. Funds collected will be donated to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.

Salem Elementary students are invited to participate in this campaign through a coin drive. We will have two collection jars at the school (one in the front lobby and one in the rear foyer) during the week of September 12-16, 2005.

Each student who deposits any donation amount into the collection jars will receive a participation Thank You! voucher. This voucher will be redeemed with the student's teacher for a GREEN "Make a Difference!" Bracelet (generously provided by Entertainment Publications). Additional donations will also earn vouchers to be applied toward a participation raffle in each classroom. The additional vouchers will be given to the student's teacher and placed within a raffle box in the student's classroom. At the end of our collection week, each classroom will hold a drawing from the vouchers collected for a special BLUE "Make a Difference!" bracelet to be awarded to one lucky student per classroom.

Remember, it is the student's participation that counts! Every penny, dime, nickel, quarter, dollar or check will "Make a Difference!" and will be graciously accepted. We want all of the students at Salem Elementary to feel that they can help others through giving.

Thank you for your kindness to our neighbors in need.
