HOPE (Helping Other PeoplE)

The school will implement its HOPE Project. HOPE is an acronym for Helping Other PeoplE. Memos were placed in the students’ Friday Folders on Sept. 2 explaining the project to the students and parents. The school will begin collecting cash donations Sept. 6 -16. All checks should be made payable to the American Red Cross. Student and parent volunteers will be in the school’s front lobby every morning from 8:45am to 9:15am collecting donations. Teachers have also been asked to keep collection cans or boxes in their classrooms. Students are being encouraged to donate portions of their allowances or to be creative in collecting donations through lemonade stands, bake sales, etc. The school has emphasized to their students, parents and staff that this is a tremendous opportunity for Green Hope Elementary to express to the citizens of Mississippi, Louisiana and Alabama that they care and want to help, in some way, so many in need.
