Program Overview
Our greatest national challenge is to ensure that all children have a quality education. Critical to meeting this challenge is recuiting and training faith-based organizations, youth service and civic organizations, businesses and community leaders. Through the Adopt-A-School Initiative (AASI) we are able to train faith-based organizations and provide guidance in developing mentoring and tutoring programs to help these organizations to create partnerships with schools and to ensure that each student is able to reach their academic potential. Through our training program and ongoing support to coalition members, a pathway will be provided to students to become outstanding citizens of the Wake County Public School System (WCPSS).
The AASI utilizes a wide range of community partnerships, recruitment strategies and high commitment process, to assist our community and school partners in identifying and assessing their strengths so that they are able to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds, experiences and perspectives.
