Announcements

  • Friday, August 26, 2016 Principal’s Weekly Message

Hello WECHS’ families, this is your Principal, Lisa Cummings, calling with the weekly update.

Congratulations on another great week! We do have the best students. Thank you to the PHS families who visited last Tuesday and we look forward to visiting with North campus families next Tuesday.

Don’t forget: Monday Enloe Bus Routes Begin and Express Routes end!. These stops can be found on the WCPSS.net website under Transportation http://webarchive.wcpss.net/school-directory/bus-routes/583.html  and are organized by the high school district in which they are located.

Due to safety concerns, we are trying a change in PHS Campus Carpool foot traffic procedures starting today. We will ask students to walk over the bridge and down the steps of the parking deck. This will prevent the need to cross in front of carpool traffic. Students will not be allowed to use the elevator or go into the parking deck. We will use this process both am and pm if all goes well. Thank you for your cooperation.

WECHS staff will be on site Monday at Enloe am and pm to help students navigate the 90+ buses that will drop off and pick up on that campus. When waiting for your bus next week, always monitor Live Updates for any reasons that may cause bus delays, http://www.wcpss.net/Page/1903 If there is no Live Update and the bus is over 30 minutes late, stay at the stop and call the PHS Main Office at 919-212-5800.

Bus Route numbers can be found on Parent Portal, bus numbers were provided all week at school, http://www.wcpss.net/domain/69.

WCPSS had changed the PSAT process this year. 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students have the opportunity to take the PSAT on Saturday, October 15 at Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School. The deadline for students to register for the PSAT test is September 6th. To register, students must contact Ms. Ingraham either in person or via email. There is an administration fee of $15 that will be due in advance.  For more information, please contact Ms. Ingraham or Ms. Lusher.

North Campus Meet the Teacher is Tuesday, 8/30 at 6:30 on the 3rd floor of Building C. The After School Activity Bus will begin T/W/Th runs September 13. The WECHS Fall Family Picnic is Saturday, October 8 at Lake Wheeler, Save the Date!

We are continuing to work on our lunch issues on both campuses. Just when we thought we had a resolution, our provider, Vernon Malone, had an issue in their kitchen today that caused a cooking problem. We will continue to work on a resolution next week to our issues. Please keep me informed as you have been.

For an ongoing list of WECHS happenings, please check the Announcements and Student Activity Calendar linked on our website. For a transcript of this message, please check the homepage.

As always, if you have an emergency, please call my mobile number, 919-398-3451.

Thank you and have a great weekend.
