NCLB: How can I get more information about the No Child Left Behind program?
CategoriesDepartment |
The federal No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act of 2001 is an educational reform law within the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA). NCLB affects the education of public school students from kindergarten through high school. The four principles for NCLB are:
*Accountability for results
*More choices for parents
*Greater local control and flexibility, and
*Emphasis on doing what works, based on scientific research.
Reports in the Evaluation & Research departmental Web page summarize results for WCPSS schools. Go to: http://www.wcpss.net/evaluation-research/reports/index.html .
Reports in the Department of Public Instruction Web site summarize statewide outcomes and program requirements. See: http://www.ncpublicschools.org/nclb .
