GROWTH: How much will the school system grow in the next few years?

New enrollment projections show Wake County schools gaining about 100,000 students by 2020. The Wake County Planning Department projects the school system's enrollment to increase from 128,072 students in 2006-07 to over 160,000 in 2010 and to more than 250,000 students in 2025. The increase for 2007-08 is projected to be 8,014 students, compared to 7,568 students gain in the 2006-07.
