How do I get tenure in WCPSS?

There are three possible ways to receive tenure with WCPSS. If you were not previously tenured in NC, you will be eligible for tenure at the end of your 4th year of successful teaching if you have a clear license. If you received tenure within the last 5 years in any NC school system, you will be eligible to receive tenure after your 2nd year of successful teaching and a clear license. If you received tenure with WCPSS within the last 5 years, you will be eligible for tenure after 1 year of successful teaching with a clear license.. Only fulltime teachers (100%) are eligible for tenure.
