Who is in charge of the EnergySavers program at each school?
CategoriesDepartment |
EnergySavers® recommends that an Energy Advisor and an EnergySavers® Team be appointed at each site to coordinate fulfillment of the Contract for Conservation. (Each school receives a copy of the contract at the beginning of the year.) A contract is entered into with each school and teams are free to incorporate their own ideas for implementing the program at their site. The Energy Advisor (usually the assistant principal)will advise the principal on how to best fulfill the contract at the facility; with guidance, goals, duties and program materials provided by EnergySavers®. The Energy Advisor will oversee the facility, monitor energy usage, ensure energy efficient areas of the school are utilitized, and report maintenance issues to Maintenance and Operations. He may request an energy audit by the EnergySavers® staff to review existing circumstances and get a better understanding of the energy efficiency of the site.
The Energy Advisor appoints (or jointly holds) the position of Energy Team Captain, who guides students' efforts in energy conservation. Students form the EnergySavers® Patrol, learn about energy efficiency and conservation, and assist their school with energy management. EnergySavers® Patrols may request free materials from EnergySavers® by calling 856-SAVE (856-7283).
