MAGNET PROGRAM: What is the application process for magnet/calendar-option schools?

A parent may complete an application online in FEBRUARY for enrollment in a magnet program or calendar-option school for the following school year.
When a parent receives a formal offer for a seat in a magnet/calendar-option school, there is a designated period of time in which to accept or decline the seat.
The parent must return the form indicating a decline of the assignment if that decision is made after the WCPSS offer. If the offered seat is not declined through submission of the form, the magnet/calendar-option school assignment becomes the student’s new school assignment for the full school year.
A student who receives an offer for a magnet/calendar-option seat and chooses to not attend that school will be reassigned to the student’s original base school assignment and the student is not offered a second magnet/calendar-option school.
