I want to speak during a Public Hearing at the next Board Meeting. How do I go about it?

There are two Public Hearing portions of each Board Meeting. One Public Hearing is to speak about items on that night's agenda. This occurs

at the beginning of the meeting.

The second Public Hearing is for items not on

that night's agenda, and it occurs toward the end of the meeting. Each speaker is limited to three minutes, and there is no interactive discussion with the board. You must sign in before the meeting begins to speak about items on the agenda, and sign in before Spotlight on Students (usually at 6:30 p.m.) to speak on items not on the agenda. Special public hearings will be called for student assignment issues. As a rule, the Board does not hear comments on student assignment at regular meetings. Also, a public hearing is not the appropriate forum to discuss personnel issues.
