Minority Business Program

Here you will find out about our Minority Business Program. FD&C is dedicated to providing equal access to information and opportunities for minority and woman-owned construction contractors, designers, and businesses. WCPSS takes the MBE Program initiative seriously, and is truly invested in providing equal access and opportunity for participation in all construction related projects.

Design Guidelines

FD&C takes a lot of pride in the construction of our schools. We believe in delivering high quality buildings for the students and teachers of Wake County. In order to achieve this level of quality, we have developed Design Guidelines that must be followed to ensure this high level of quality. These guidelines primarily deal with the design and construction of schools.

Educational Specifications

Just as we believe the school buildings themselves should be of high quality, we also believe the interior should be of high quality as well. Our Educational Specifications ensure that the schools' actual design follows a number of specific guidelines from the number of teaching spaces, to the size of the cafeteria to what kind of playground equipment should be installed. Architects should take a strong interest in this section if they are interested in possibly designing a school for WCPSS.

Energy Guidelines

We believe that it is everyone's responsibility to take care of our planet. That is why we developed our Energy Guidelines for our projects. Whenever we build a new or renovate the old we want to upgrade these buildings to be greener and more energy efficient, so that we leave less of a carbon footprint for our children.
