The Evaluation and Research Department provides accurate and timely data for decision-making to inform the design and evaluate the effectiveness of curriculum and program initiatives. The assistant superintendent provides leadership to the Evaluation and Research Department staff. He also supports members of the board, the superintendent, and school and central services administrators to understand student data and the programs that result in desired learning outcomes. In order to achieve department goals, and to coordinate the development and implementation of evaluation and assessment procedures and provide information to policy-makers, the assistant superintendent facilitates the creation of evaluation studies and assessment activities and associated products, plans allocation of resources to evaluation activities and manages the quality assurance activities that ensure that all research and evaluation activities, reports and products, reflect the highest professional standards.
