On March 16,2006 the Wake County Public School System, along with its partners, WakeMed Health & Hospitals and Wake Technical Community College, announced the opening of The Wake Early College of Health and Sciences (WECHS) . WECHS is a personalized, rigorous, innovative high school themed around the health and sciences.
