Dual enrollment gives high school students the opportunity to take approved courses at accredited institutions while completing high school graduation requirements. Courses taken must provide opportunities not currently available to students at Green Hope High School. High school graduation credit and grades will be awarded by Green Hope High School when the official transcript is received by Green Hope High School. Quality points will be calculated as defined in the Wake County Public School System High School Program Planning Guide. The student's official high school transcript will include the course and grade. All dual enrollment options must be approved by Green Hope High School Student Services prior to enrollment in the opportunity to be considered for credit on the student's official high school transcript.
Green Hope High School participates in the following dual enrollment programs:
NCVPS will provide students with expanded academic options by offering online courses and online services such as test preparation and credit recovery (summer only) to North Carolina students. By virtue of their online course delivery, students from all areas of the state have access to courses and highly qualified teachers in subjects that may not be available at Green Hope High School. These "non-traditional" courses are designed for students who are self-directed, meaning that they are responsible to do their lessons and assignments without having a set schedule of class meetings. However, you can be assured that regardless of the online courses that NCVPS choose to provide, all NCVPS courses will meet the curriculum content standards that are set forth by the Department of Public Instruction and that all of their courses will meet the recognized quality assurance standards for e-learning courses. Students will be taught by NC-certified teachers and the grades that they earn in their NCVPS course will transfer to Green Hope High School and become part of their academic record. Only courses not offered at Green Hope High School will be approved for NCVPS. Please see your counselor for more information.
To enroll in a NCVPS course, please download and complete the Dual Enrollment Registration Form. Please bring the completed form to your school counselor to be registered in the online course. Please remember that online courses are rigorous. Excellent time management skills are needed to be successful in an online course. Students should commit to 5-10 hours per week to complete class requirements.
