General Announcements -

->  This is an important announcement for graduating seniors!

See list below to see which teacher is reading your name at graduation and when/where you can consult with them to make sure they have the correct pronunciation.  It is YOUR responsibility to make sure the reader has the appropriate information.  Not consulting with the readers may result in your name being read incorrectly!

Ms. Houck will be reading last names that end in:    Abbott-Rigsbee – Butterworth;  Echegaray - Guzman;  Kain - Lynch;  )'Day - Purohit;  Sabatini - Shelton;  Talukder -  Vyas.

You can find Ms. Houck during the month of May on  Mondays and Thursdays during SMART Lunch in Room 1520.


Mr. Volkmar will be reading last names that end in:   Calcagno – Duwve;  Hale - Junkins;  Ma - Nowak;  Qian - Rychcik; Shields – Swanson;  Wagner -- Zuniga-Lopez.

You can find Mr. Volkmar during the month of May on Tuesdays A lunch, Wednesdays and Fridays all of SMART Lunch in Room M2-11.

->  Students and staff will be accessing their new WakeID portal at the new icon on the black strip in the middle of the PCHS home page.  Students access:  Google drive, Canvas, and student email this way from now on.  (Powerschool still accessible via the Homebase icon!)  Staff members access:  Email, Google drive, Canvas, Easi, Powerschool, etc. at this icon.
-> PCHS Recycling Information -  The Environmental Club members will be coming around to collect recycling on the following schedule:
  • Tuesdays – SMART Lunch – Bottles
  • Tuesdays – After School – Collecting paper in the main building
  • Wednesdays – Collecting paper in the modular buildings
Please remember to place bins in the hallway!

-> Need help with a writing assignment?   The Panther Creek Writing Center is now open on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays during SMART Lunch A in Room 1504. No appointment necessary!  Come by and have a writing conference with one of our staff members.  We can help with writing in all classes.

->  Panther Creek FBLA meeting election results on Tuesday, May 23 in Room 2611 during SMART Lunch A. 
->  Looking for ways to serve your local community through improving the food system? Come and join Food Ark, everyone is welcome!  Last meeting of the year on Wednesday, May 23 during SMART Lunch A in Room 1612!   Learn about TSA involvement in the garden, CAM JAM, the 2017-2018 Board, and enjoy some food! 
->  ~Club de Français~  election meeting on Monday, May 22 during SMART Lunch A in Room 1632.  Come prepared with a short speech.
->  Muslim Student Association election meeting on Monday, May 22 in Room 3520 during SMART Lunch A. There will be a  New/Old board meeting during SMART Lunch B.
->  Origami Club last meeting on Monday, May 22 during SMART Lunch A to create origami and have fun (mini party).   All are welcome!

->  Ever wanted to play Dungeons & Dragons?  Now you can, at the PCHS Adventurer’s League Club! No experience needed! D&D veterans and newcomers alike are welcome!  Meetings and Adventures every Monday during Smart Lunch, Room 3606!

-> Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) meets on  Thursdays during SMART Lunch A.  


Arts -

->  PCHS Chorus Year-End Finale Concert on Tuesday, May 23 at 7:00 p.m.  $5 at the door. 

This concert is going to be amazing!

->  The 2017 Visual Arts Gallery Walk on Thursday, May 25 during SMART Lunch A and B in  Room 2613.  Come see our creativity!

-> Attention rising Juniors and Seniors!  Have you secured a local Summer                     Internship?  This experience may be eligible for an Internship Honors Credit!  Stop by Student Services no later than Wednesday, May 24 to sign-up for an information session with Ms. Shaw.  Do not miss out on an opportunity to highlight your accomplishment!
->  Seniors....  Please turn in your admission letters to Colleges and Universities and scholarship letters to Student Services.  Our scholarship goal this year is 6.5 million!
->   Summer Discovery Internships - Partner with Universities outside of North Carolina.  There are fees/costs associated with this program.  Stop by Student Services or Career Development Website for more information!
