Registration Overview

  • TIMELINE FOR ALL STUDENTS

    REGISTRATION TIMELINE FOR 2017 - 2018 School Year

    By February 17, 2017: Teachers will have all recommendations for students   

    February 24, 2017: Students receive registration materials in 2nd period

    February 27 -March 1, 2017: Counselors meet individually with 11th Graders for registration information and academic planning.  Registration is open for 11th graders during this window.

    March 13 - March 31, 2017:  Counselors meet with 9th and 10th graders for registration information and academic planning.  Registration is open to 9th and 10th graders during this window.

    April 7, 2017:  Students will receive verification of course registration for 2017-2018.

    April 17, 2017:  Students return verification sheets to Student Services with a signature from the parent and student verifying that these are the courses that students will take. Students will not be allowed to change these courses.

    May:  School Assignment Notices for 2017-2018 go home

    August 6, 10-13, & 17, 2017Schedule adjustment period for students (by schedule). 

    August 28, 2017:  First day of school

    September 5, 2017: There are no more schedule changes after this date

  • Registration for Current Athens Students for 2017-2018 will take place on Powerschool on the following schedule:

    • Rising Seniors: February 27, 2017 - March 10, 2017
    • Rising Sophomores and Juniors: March 13, 2017 - March 31, 2017
  • To register your student at ADHS you must schedule a registration meeting.  Registration appointments are available Tuesdays & Thursdays only 8 AM-1:00 PM   Parents must bring the following documentation to complete the registration process:

    • A certified copy of your child's birth certificate
    • Proof of your Wake County address (current water, gas, or electric bill in parent's name that is no more than 60 days old, newly signed lease, or offer to purchase agreement*)

    • A photo ID of the parent or guardian

    • Your child's immunization record

    • Any custody documents

    • Previous school records (transcript/report cards, IEP, 504 plans)
