IMPS Camp – Rising 6th Grade Students Our 6th Grade IMPS Camp will be held on Wednesday, August 16th, 8 am – 12 pm. This orientation camp for our new rising 6th grade students is a great opportunity for the kids to be introduced to their teachers, become familiar with our campus, be introduced to middle school expectations, and provide assurances their middle school experience will be a valuable time in their life. For parents, this orientation session is a great time to hear the same expectations the kids will hear, take tours of the school, learn about the educational opportunities West Cary will provide your children, and ask questions from administration and counselors. Below is a brief outline for how the IMPS Camp will work:

8:00-8:45 – Students with last names of A-M (Group #1) will pick up their schedule and meet their teachers with their parents.

8:45-9:30 – Students with last names of N-Z (Group #2) will pick up their schedule and meet their teachers with their parents.

8:45-9:30 – Group #1 parents will report to the auditorium for campus tours

9:30-10:15 – Group #2 parents will report to the auditorium for campus tours

9:35-10:00 – Group #1 parents will report back to the auditorium for a school presentation and Q&A.  When the presentation is over, parents will leave and return for child pick-up @11:45

10:05-10:30 – Group #2 parents will report back to the auditorium for a school presentation and Q&A.  When the presentation is over, parents will leave and return for child pick-up @11:45

All students will be engaged in various activities with their 6th grade teachers (8:45-11:45, Group #1), and 9:30-11:45, Group #2). If a parent needs to take their child home before the conclusion of activities due to work constraints, the school understands those circumstances. However, the primary purpose of IMPS Camp is to orient our new 6th grade students to West Cary; welcome them into our school; help them transition on day #1 and be a support for them in every way. Please sign up for IMPS Camp by visiting the link posted to our school website – www.wcpss.net/westcaryms If you have additional questions, please contact the 6th Grade Assistant Principal, Charlesa Peoples at cpeoples@wcpss.net.
