![]() The WCPSS is currently the largest school district in the North Carolina and the 16th largest in the United States. The student population has doubled since 1993 and another 40,000 students are projected by year 2020. The 2011-12 enrollment was 146,687 students, with an annual increase of 3,398 students and 2.37 percent student growth. Enrollment of about 150,000 is estimated for the upcoming 2012-13 school year. |
