Curriculum Management Audit

Recommendation 5: Evaluation

Recommendation Manager

David Holdzkom, Assistant Superintendent for Evaluation and Research

(00:01:09)

The Auditors Recommended:

“Formalize comprehensive assessment procedures to provide data for decision making at all levels of the system. Establish a formalized process for selection, implementation, and evaluation of programs utilizing data that will be used as feedback for revision or continuation of programs and practices.” (p. 361)

What This Means To The Community:

Recommendation 5 suggests improving the use of data in decision making. A district-wide evaluation process that looks at student assessment and program evaluation in a comprehensive manner would provide the quantity and quality of information that district staff needs to make rational decisions about the design of the curriculum, how its delivered and its effectiveness. Such a process would also communicate to the public the methods of measurement and accountability used by district leadership.
