The minutes for the meeting of March 3, 2000 are as follows:
1. Christina Lighthall gave a presentation in response to Bob Williams' questions/information requests from the Feb. 11 meeting. Some of her points of discussion were:
- Class size
- Methodology for school enrollment projections
- Housing growth in Wake County
- School crowding
- Use prototype design with a fall 2000 bond referendum
- Use prototype design with a spring 2001 bond referendum
- Accelerate school openings with a Fall 2000 bond referendum

2. Marty Mitchell, WCPSS, presented "School Operating Costs." Some of the points of discussion were:

- Typical life expectancy utility costs by school based on $1.00/sq. ft.

3. John Boling, SAS Institute, gave a Powerpoint presentation on "Instructional Technology" and what impact it has on education. Some of the points of discussion were:

4. A question was raised by one of the committee members - Does the county take into consideration other new facilities when planning school enrollment projections? The question was directed at Mike Jennings, Wake County Government. His response was: "You asked if the model includes consideration of children who go to charter and private schools. It does so only indirectly, in that the model projects enrollment of existing schools ( which automatically excludes those enrolled elsewhere), and also uses a figure that represents the percentage of children of each age who are enrolled in public schools. The latter figure is reevaluated to determine if it has changed."
